Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Salzburg, Vienna

We had been to Ireland a couple times to check out the land of the Uí Néill dynasties on my father’s side. It was time to explore the land of the Dvorák’s on my mother’s side. It’s ironic that the Celtic tribes originally populated this region (Bohemian). They were later displaced by Germanic tribes (Slavic). The Czech Republic offers a long and mixed history dating back to the 4th Century BC. The towns and cities were rich in architecture and art . The people were kind and welcoming. Despite a bit of rainy weather, we had a very enjoyable and educational trip. Note that Cesky Krumlov was considered to have no value during WWII and therefore was untouched by the Nazi invasions. Much of the Medieval architecture survives to this day. Salzburg and Vienna capped off the trip with more amazing sites and memories.
