We went on a slot canyon tour via a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). The ride to the two destinations was worth the tour fee alone. It was like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. It allowed us to get closer to the slots with shorter hikes. We walked as far as we could, bounding over boulders and squeezing through the fissure until the path narrowed to a single foot’s width. Bryce Canyon was a short walk from Bryce Canyon Lodge. The trail through the pine trees opens up to amazing views of the canyon. There was a sky walk that hung over the edge suspending you hundreds of feet above the trails below. The mule ride was quite an experience. After getting the hang of navigating the mule, we descended down to the canyon floor on very narrow trails and steep drop-offs. It got a little creepy on certain stretches as hooves slipped and rocks tumbled along the tight switchbacks.
